fascinating facts about the history Myrtle Beach - still a great spot for holidays

Have you ever been to Myrtle Beach, SC, for a family vacation? So I did. There are images from the mid-fifties to me and my brother play in the sand in the Windy Hill. Then, years later, when I raised my family, we came to Myrtle Beach, at regular intervals, usually staying in one of the seaside camp sites to receive more visitors than in reality today, when most of the RV are also now instead of curtains .

I livedhere for 20 years and I learned some interesting tidbits' of history that I share with you. First, the origin of the name "Myrtle" Beach. This area is still full of wax myrtle beautiful flower to bloom every June or July and stay in most of the summer. Their flowers are beautiful shades of pink, purple and white. The median line of myrtle on our roads. I have several in my garden. No serious property herewithout some myrtle.

Some of you may know that the player Lakes Country Club Pine Beach is the oldest golf course in Myrtle. In the early 1920's, businessmen, a group of holiday elegant building (which is now the Pine Lakes Country Club) and the Ocean Forest Hotel.

The golf course was completed in 1927 and today is elegant and reminiscent of the good life of the past. Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen, well-known names for each golfersocialized with the Vanderbilts and the Rockefellers here. The old Scottish tradition is still carried out. The Country Club is the place where many families still choose to "Coming Out" business novice marriages for their daughters and family.

The Ocean Forest Hotel was the hotel - very large with over 300 rooms, crystal chandeliers, a dance through the night, swimming pools - inside and out, and stables for horses. It 'was the home of WMY13 first radio station. In short, was the place to be if you were at Myrtle Beach. Unfortunately it was demolished in 1974 to make way for "progress."

In those days long ago, Sandy had a weekly telephone operators and Myrtle held with all and knew everything that was going on! In 1952, the first Miss South Carolina contest was held and is nothing but our Mickey Spillane was one of the judges.

These are just a few glimpses into the rich history of one ofAmerica's most popular beaches.

I have lived here for 20 years, and I grew to know the history and modern life, here on this line of 60 miles of sand and surf to appreciate.

Friends and family will always come to visit. Sometimes I can be home, but if I can, I always in her apartments on the sea, a local company that I learned to trust and leave your perfect lodging and golf packages available for friends of my husband, I love the game asmuch like him.

Holiday Gites France - The Self Catering Option For Your Holidays in France

There are numerous options available to you for taking a holiday in France ranging from camping to top class hotels. Deciding which is the best option for you can be a bit tricky but I am of the firm opinion that a self catering holiday in a gite in France is one of the best options available.

So what are my reasons for making this statement, the easiest way is to demonstrate with a simple list of bullet statements.

Flexibility
Exclusivity
Comfort
Affordability
Location choice

Flexibility

Gite accommodation if selected correctly will provide you with loads of flexibility for you and your family, you can decide whether you want to prepare your own food, eat out or get a take away. You usually have access to a garden where you can chill out for the day when you are fed up of getting in the car, more often than not there is some form of entertainment available for you to choose from including TV, music, games or just reading. When the weather is a little inclement, does not happen too often in the South of France but it can for the odd day or two, you have a refuge to shelter in if needed, not so much fun in a tent or caravan. It is, if selected correctly, a home from home that caters for most if not all scenarios.

Exclusive use of a swimming pool

Renting a stand alone gite in the country with private gardens and a pool can give you privacy to enjoy yourself without having to share with other holiday makers. Not a requirement for everyone but very desirable for some people especially if their home life is spent in close contact with neighbors which they may not always get on with. Having the use of a pool without having to share it can be a very nice option.

Comfort

Many of the gites on offer have been renovated to meet the expectations of the British and German holidaymakers with high standards approaching or equaling those of good quality hotels. Clean, smart with lots of facilities and comfortable beds plus the added benefit of well equipped kitchens and sitting rooms, again that home from home feeling.

Affordability

The self catering option presents the opportunity for keeping costs to a reasonable level, looking after your self costs less than having to pay for bed and breakfast or hotel accommodation. Plus you have the choice of how much you spend on your catering, food and drink costs a lot less from a supermarket than a restaurant and you can decide how often you want to take the more expensive options.

Location Choice

Because of the sheer volume of gites available throughout France, you can pretty much choose a facility and location that exactly meets your requirements. That can be in the town or in the country and can be full on vibrant and busy or totally chilled. Camp sites and hotels don't tend to be able to provide that level of choice for reasonably obvious reasons.

Clearly all types of holiday accommodation can provide some of these benefits but none I believe offer the full package as well as self catering accommodation. Wish I had thought about this when I was traveling around France over the years.

How To Find Bargain Holidays

The holidays are the perfect time for us, with us again, and relax. There are many different types of holidays, we enjoy, including a relaxing beach holiday with mojitos and the warm sun, or an adventurous holiday with hiking, swimming and camping, you can. For a romantic getaway weekend also research. No matter which party you choose to do one of the most important things in planning for the options to find accommodation at affordable prices in order to save ityourself some money while still planning the holiday getaway of your dreams.

Flights -- Are you looking for cheap flights for your holidays? They do exist! The key in finding cheap flights to exotic destination resorts like Turkey, Egypt or the Canary Islands is to shop around and compare many different holiday plans and options before you settle on anything. But here is what many people do not consider: As soon as you find a price for a holiday flight that seems fair or unbeatable, you should snap it up before the price goes up, or the flight becomes completely booked.

There are numerous different flight companies that offer special deals, especially if you are flexible about departure and arrival times and dates, and you can also find special holiday packages through tour groups and niche travel companies. Compare prices, find a set of departure and arrival times that work for you, and snap up the best deal that you can find before you lose it. Then all that is left on The route is to enjoy your dream vacation.

Accommodation - There are many different ways of accommodation in exotic destinations, including resort hotels, apartments and condo rental beach house on, just to name a few. The key to score the best deals for a vacation is to decide what you want and what you do not want and does not offer many different housing, are compared.

There are many travelcompanies online which work to offer the best package deals on holiday accommodations, so as long as you are willing to put effort into searching for the best bargain holidays, there is no reason that you cannot find an amazing deal on the holiday of your dreams.
