I want you on a hunting weekend say fossil found a couple of weeks. It was a cold but sunny Saturday in December. I live about three and a half hours from the beach I visited was the programming, I started very early, around 04:30 clock. Edisto Beach State Park was in South Carolina.
It 'was a journey I had been anticipating for some time. Because I live in South Carolina that have been most of my trips to the beach looking for fossils limitedof my state. I had not visited before Edisto Beach. Most of my trips have been to Iceland from the beaches of Myrtle Beach and hunting. I had read that Edisto Beach State Park was a great beach fossil hunting, so naturally I was eager to visit, too.
First a little history of my search for fossils. Twenty years have been invited to go to the beach with an aunt. During the journey has led me to hunt sharks Aunt NitaTeeth. Maybe I was a bit 'young, but I did not want to enjoy this past time. A few years later, I was walking along the beach and happen to look down and see a shark tooth. I came to get him, and suddenly remembered the thrill of my aunt Nita displayed on the search for a shark tooth. I must have been about 20 This was 23 years ago. Today I can not miss the opportunity to go fossil hunting.
This Saturday was especially before Christmas and the weather forecast for clear, sunny day and cold. I have this would be the ideal time to hunt fossils. I was right! We arrived at 08.30 clock and we bundled for protection against the cold and began our expedition! I was really happy to see many shellfish beds up and down the coast! I have pictures on my site. We started walking to the beach camp. There was nobody on the beach and soon we began to find shark teeth and some petrified wood. There was also an abundance of shellssome of which I could not miss.
As the morning turned into afternoon, the temperature rose enough that we protect our heavy coats and stocking caps, were deleted. We were now in light jackets beachcombing under beautiful blue skies. Meanwhile, other people on the beach, probably from the campsite. We left the beach, heading home around 3:30.
We had a great experience Edisto. We found many fine specimens to our collection to add. I was luckyFind shark teeth and petrified wood, both in Myrtle Beach and hunting in Iceland. Now I can add Beach State Park on my list to be great to find fossils Edisto beaches.
We found 34 shark teeth, several pieces of petrified wood and an excellent copy vertebrae. I was very pleased in recent days and has been for the next trip. They are pictures of Edisto Beach and our findings on my site http://www.saturdayafternoonhobbies.com
